Needed materials:
1. Three Chinese sticks (10.5”)
2. Cotton fabric (two different kinds)
3. Three pieces of cotton 2X5".
4. Stretch cotton 1X8”
5. Cotton thin batting
6. Regular sewing thread and needle for hand sewing or a sewing machine.
Step 1:
Cut pattern from the paper. Trace your pattern pieces onto the fabric. Use pattern B without seam allowance for batting. Then cut out all pieces from fabric.
Step 2:
Take tree pieces of cotton 2X5". Fold about 1/4” on each short side of fabric and press. Fold on half and press again. Repeat for all pieces.
Step 3:
Put fabric pieces A1 and A2 face to face with folded piece of cotton in the middle as shown. Sew all three pieces together.
Sew together pattern A2 and A3 same direction.
Put last piece of folded cotton (2X5”) on the right side of pattern A3 and sew on. Open all seam allowances and press.
Step 4:
Put together A and B fabric pieces together face to face, with batting on top. Sew together and leave opening to turn inside out.
Snip close to the sewn line all around the door, and cut out the corners.
Turn inside out.
Step 5:
With small slip stitches sew the opening on both sides, Iron your wigwam. Sew together two open sides of wigwam with slip stitch.Make sure that you leave piece of fabric that needs hold the stick on the right side of wigwam. Turn out the wigwam.
Step 6:
Add Chinese sticks. Tie them on top with stretch piece of cotton 1X8”.
Make two or more tippis, add your own plastic animals and you will have your own Native American settlement.
